Logo Day, the new Alumat Logo

The New Alumat Logo is introduced.
It recalls the historic logo, almost laid down on a smile, expressing the passion with which we have worked since the beginning. It expresses what represents us: Solidity, Precision, Care for Details.
The Payoff, which is the added value, simply describes the promised final result: the profiles you need literally come to life thanks to Alumat dies. Because the Passion and the Desire to Do Well combined with Know-how allow us to “give birth” to projects with the same care we give to human beings.

    The machinery installation includes:
    3 multiskill lathes
    11 horizontal CNC machining centres
    5 vertical CNC machining centres
    5 spark erosion machines
    7 EDM wire erosion machines
    8 manual finishing stations
7000 dies per year of which 75% are hollow and 25% are flat.

    Simulation

The ability to predict the behaviour of the die and the profile during the extrusion process was a key-turning point in the design and construction of the dies. Thanks to the collaboration with the R&D department of Almax Mori, Alumat and Almax are the first two companies in Europe that developed a simulation system in this industry. Today we are the first in the interpretation of the data gathered from this finite element analysis system.

    New Technologies

New technologies were introduced: new EDM wire erosion machines, horizontal CNC machining centres, increase in the die-diametres, high-speed CNC centres with the aid of a robot for the finishing on hardened dies.

    Other 800 sqm

One of the characteristics of this company is the continuous investment in machinery, premises and people.
In this year the workshop area grew even more. The company bought a new production site, still in via Lisbona.

    Almax Mori Acquisition

2004 was an important year, Alumat acquired a competitor: Almax Mori.
Almax was living difficult times, but the entrepreneurial spirit and a particular affection for this company, which some years before was for Locatelli like a school of the extrusion world, led the two Alumat partners to acquire the company. Also because of this acquisition, the Alumat-Almax Group is currently the third most important Group in the extrusion die market.
